Apple announced the new iPad on March 7th and launched the tablet on March 16th. The new iPad is packed with retina display (2048-by-1536-pixel resolution at 264 pixels per inch (ppi)), 1GHz dual core A5x SOC Processor and has quad core GPU, 1GB RAM and 42 watt battery which is double the size of battery capacity when compared to iPad 2.

The Camera in the new iPad (3rd gen) has a huge jump to 5 megapixel. The optics used in the new iPad is same as the optics used in iPhone 4S.
