Motorola’s Attempt At The Super Phone: The Motorola Atrix

The Atrix is Motorola’s attempt to lead the dual core market. 2011 has seen the superphone become a big player in the market, with the term ‘superphone’ generally reserved for any phone with a dual core processor. Dual core technology has become integral to mobile innovation due to the extra processing power necessary to run multiple apps and endless features.

For those that like gadgets, the Atrix is unlocked by fingerprint recognition. A device located on the top of the phone scans your finger print and unlocks instantaneously. Even if this is something of a gimmick, it is still a very good one and much more efficient than typing in a pass code or the like.

This phone came out to rival the Samsung Galaxy S2 and the LG Optimus 2X. The iPhone 4S has now recently been added to the market which may gazump all of these phones, but the Atrix more than holds its own amongst illustrious competition.

The Atrix has three USB ports making it a veritable laptop – it can be plugged into your laptop for a large screen view. It is lighter than the iPhone 4S and it has a 4 inch screen to view media and apps. The screen sharpness may not be as bright as the Samsung Galaxy S2 but may be unfair to compare it to the best screen going. The Atrix screen is more than adequate.

The Atrix has a 1GHz Tegra 2 processor and was marketed on its sheer power. Its processing speed has now been surpassed by other models, but it copes with multiple apps and detail heavy graphics without any slowdown.

The Motorola Atrix set the bar for dual core superphones and with the release of powerful phones since the Atrix we can judge that it is still one of the best on the market. Available for prices that wont break the bank at Phones4S along with many other cheap mobile phones. Get yours ordered ready for Christmas!
