Fujitsu Arrows ES IS12F: World’s Thinnest Smartphone?

Fujitsu have just announced one of the world’s thinnest smartphone ever – the Arrows ES IS12F. The long name belies the phone’s lithe figure, which measures just 6.7 mm thick at its thinnest point (and just 8.5 mm at the thickest.) The 105 gram phone is amazingly 0.4 mm thinner than the Motorola RAZR.

Despite its small size, the Arrows manages to pack in some powerful tech, including a 4” AMOLED display at 480 x 800 and a 5 megapixel camera with image stabilisation. Internally, you’ll find a 1.4 GHz Snapdragon single core CPU along with the usual assortment of radios for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, CDMA and GSM. The battery is only 1,400 mAh, but is good for 400 minutes (6 2/3 hours) of talk time.

The Arrows also includes a few rarely seen features, including a water-resistant coating and Japan-specific digital TV tuner and IR receiver. All in all, it’s an interesting phone and hopefully one that’ll make itself available outside of Japan sometime soon after its January 2012 ship date.
