Why the Nvidia Shield will restore Android as the Leading Mobile Gaming Platform

Given that the iPhone 6 sold a record 10 million units during the first weekend of its release, you would be right in assuming that Apple has cemented its position as the worlds’ leading smartphone brand. Its reputation for delivering a viable gaming experience has also improved as a result, with new iOS 8 operating system delivering higher quality graphics and audio output. There was the potential for this to overwhelm the Android platform, which had so long been Omni-potent as the number one resource for gaming.

Just as it appeared as though Apple had stolen a march on Android, however, the latter has responded with one of the seminal gaming releases of the year. More specifically, it has launched the outstanding Nvidia Shield Tablet, with is the first device of its type that has been dedicated to gaming and one that offers an incredibly immersive experience. From its 1280 x 700 high resolution screen to a powerful processor that allows for seamless game play, it is equipped with a high performance spec that defies belief.

This applies regardless of your gaming orientation, whether you enjoy gambling online on games such as roulette or blackjack, or playing platform style titles. Perhaps the single greatest benefit of this device is its innovative range of game sharing services, which open up the potential for cross-platform experiences and give players access to a broader diversity of titles. GameStream is already adding an extra dimension to the market, while GRID will come into play in 2015 and has already been described as the Netflix of gaming.

With this in mind, Android has clearly been restored as the single most effective and popular gaming platform on the market. This means that Apple will be forced to respond in 2015, possibly with a new iOS 9 upgrade and additional hardware.
